Travel, Location & Activities

Poblado Marinero, Los Gigantes

Away from any flight paths, harsh weather, high seas or busy, crowded cities.
This is the place for your peaceful retreat.

The apartments not only have great access to the town on foot, they are also well appointed for access to the interior of the island.

The main TF-1 motorway (which allows access to 90% of the rest of the island) and is close enough to the northwest areas to make it worth visiting the attractions in those areas.

We have contacts for car rental at preferential rates and access from the airport is best pre-booked to save money. On the day taxi fares typically cost more than pre-booked airport transfer, do let us know you if you’d like information about airport transfer services that we use ourselves.

We like to recommend using the local taxi’s for running errands to the shops, visiting nearby towns or coming home late at night, as they are safe and inexpensive for short trips.

Nightlife

There are dozens of bars, restaurants as soon as you step out of your apartment, wether you stay on the harbour or take a short walk up into the centre of town, you will find a variety of places to dine.

Many maritime activities take place on the harbour and tickets are available to buy at the local multi-service exchange shop, just up the hill, or on and around the harbour where most have their own stand.

Flipper Uno sets sail on a pirate ship and guarantees that you will see dolphins and/or whales. In one of the beautiful bays with its sparkling clear water, you have time for a swim – going into the water is easy down the steps or spectacularly swinging from the trapeze! After your swim, lunch is provided and is included in the price. After 3 hours of sailing, you will be back in the harbour of Los Gigantes.

Special rates apply for our guests at the Oasis Pool which is a short 5 min walk. It has slides with a play area, a relaxed grassed area with sun-beds, a bowling green, tennis court, WIFI, restaurant and pool bar.

Even closer and alongside the harbour, is El Laguillo, a winding sea water pool kissed by the sea breeze and with clear views out to the Atlantic as well as the towering cliffs that give Los Gigantes its name as a backdrop. There’s plenty of room to crash out on sun beds and a large restaurant and bar with terrace will tend to your food needs. If you want to converse with nature, they have a rock pool.

At the top of the village, there is the Tipsy Terrace, which offers live music events, a restaurant and bar, an outdoor pool, tennis courts and crazy golf – there is often a weekly tournament!

The famous and specialised jewellery maker Tenerife Pearl, can also be found on the island. Pearls are Tenerife’s oldest known gem, records have been found showing that Egyptians wore mother of pearl jewellery over 5,000 years ago.

Tenerife is known for it’s extensive range of activities; the video below is just a taster of what’s available.

Tenerife has a lot to offer if you want to explore. There are the vast open plains the Teide National Park, with the heights of Mount Teide to climb and the amazing mountain roads that take you there. The Islands Banana plantations frame the mountainsides and the Observatorio Del Teide (Observatory of Mt. Teide) offers something for those interested in the cosmos.
